- Gain an understanding regarding the physician’s ethical responsibilities in treating patients and accepting gifts from industry
- Improve case management knowledge for the disability evaluation process for worker’s compensation cases
- Increase understanding of the methods to reduce professional liability in treating patients
- Gain a greater understanding of the requirements for medical record coding and payment
- Increase knowledge in medical practice management issues
Accreditation: The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
CME Credit:
U.S. Physicians: The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons designates this educational activity for a maximum of
10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
International Physicians: The AMA has determined that physicians not licensed in the United States but who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Allied Health Professionals: The Academy is not accredited to offer credit for nurses and other allied health professionals. To determine if activities offering Category 1 CME credit are acceptable for your licensing or certification needs please contact the relevant organizations directly.

AAOS members will be able to view and print their transcript after completion of the Evaluation and CME form for each examination activity.
Non-Member Participants will be able to print a CME certificate from the main menu after completion of the Evaluation and CME form for each examination activity. This is your record of participation.

The Practice Management Self-Assessment Examination can help fulfill the CME requirements mandated by the ABOS Maintenance of Certification (MOC©) process. The Practice Management Self-Assessment Examination cannot be applied to the Scored and Recorded self-assessment examination requirement as mandated by the ABOS Maintenance of Certification (MOC©) process.
