Institute Mission Partnership

The Academy is partnering with the Institute for Healthcare Communication, a non-profit foundation supported in part by the Pharmaceutical Division of the Bayer Corporation. The Institute's mission is to enhance the dialogue between clinicians and patients through education, research and advocacy.

The Institute has developed a number of educational workshops that focus on increasing participants? skills in clinician-patient communication. These interactive, experiential and skill-based workshops are based on scientific evidence regarding the efficacy of educational interventions. The Clinician-Patient Communication to Enhance Health Outcomes (CPC) is the most generic course. This ½ day workshop focuses on the 4Es of effective communication: Engage, Empathize, Educate and Enlist.
