This program will bring together an internationally renown group of speakers who will present the “State-of-the-Art” in treating shoulder and elbow problems. Scientific papers have been selected on managing fractures, performing Arthroplasty, treating instability an rotator cuff tears. Panel discussions will address biceps and rotator cuff tear controversies using evidence-based results when choosing arthroscopic and open techniques. Technique videos on examination, surgical treatment, and postoperative treatment options will be highlighted.

This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to:

  • Evaluate patients with shoulder and elbow arthritis, trauma, and recurrent instability and formulate a treatment plan.
  • Compare and contrast various surgical and nonsurgical treatment protocols for young patients with arthritic shoulders and elbows.
  • Discuss alternative treatment and rehabilitation techniques for overhead athletes and rotator cuff tears.
  • Describe complications of patients with a painful Arthroplasty and how to avoid them.
  • Debate the current indications for reverse shoulder Arthroplasty and potential concerns with durability.

Request for a refund must be received in writing in the Academy Office (AAOS, 6300 North River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018-4262) by April-08-2010. In all instances a cancellation fee will be charged. Beyond these dates, no monetary refunds will be issued. Instead, the tuition amount, less cancellation fee, will be credited toward another AAOS course within one year.

The Academy reserves the right to cancel a course thirty (30) days prior to the course date. Any person who has registered for the course will be notified by email and/or certified mail at the address noted in the AAOS member database. A telephone call will also be made to each registrant for whom a number is available. Persons whose registration is received after a course is cancelled will be notified by telephone, email or mail. Registration fees will be refunded in full. However, other costs incurred by the registrant, such as airline or hotel penalties are the responsibility of the registrant.
