This 2-hour evening webinar, It's Not 'How to Find a JOB!'-It's 'How to find a LIFE!" is designed for residents, but may be of interest and value to any orthopaedic surgeon contemplating a change in their practice situation, or who is involved in hiring decisions. Orthopaedic surgeons and consultants will explain what is really at stake when completing residency and moving into practice. The faculty will discuss the processes, "do's and don'ts," and other important information to help residents make sound professional and personal choices. Multiple Q&A segments provide participants with the opportunity to pose questions and receive real-time responses from the speakers. At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to begin the process of defining their professional and personal life post-residency and beyond.
This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to:
- Identify their personal and professional requirements for employment
- Communicate with significant others regarding identifying their personal and professional requirements as they relate to the physician's employment
- Develop a resume/CV
- Network to identify potential practices
- Actively participate in the formal and informal interview process
- Customize an evaluation protocol to aid in making a selection
- Negotiate an employment agreement
