Course Description

This course will cover basic strategies in diagnosing and treating common and uncommon upper extremity nerve compression syndromes. It also discusses how to apply the AAOS Clinical Guidelines on the Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to patient care.

This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to:

  • Differentiate among different management options for select compressive neuropathies of the upper extremity.
  • Evaluate the impact of controversies surrounding carpal tunnel syndrome and surgical release on patient care.
  • Apply AAOS Clinical Guidelines on the Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to patient care.
  • Identify indications for, and outcomes of, the different surgical approaches for cubital tunnel syndrome.
  • Identify patient presentation factors signaling diagnosis of less common compressive neuropathies, including radial tunnel & ulnar tunnel syndromes.
