Zip Code Demographics

Search the Academy's demographic database for detailed demographic information on a Three Digit Zip Code area.

This form allows you to search for demographic information by zip code, city, state or city and state in combination.

The percent sign, '%', can be used as a wildcard character in the city search. As an example, 'ch%o' in the city would return cities beginning with 'ch' and containing an 'o' in any other place in the city.

Select the "Quick Tables" option under Census 2000 Summary File 1 (SF 1) 100-Percent Data.
On the next page, select a GEOGRAPHIC TYPE of "3-Digit Zipcode Tabulation Area".
In the lower box, select "All 3-Digit Zip Code Tabulation Areas" and press the "Add" button, when it is done, click "Next".
Select table "DP-1 Profile of General Demographic Characteristics:2000" click on "Add" then on "Show Table".

Select the "Detailed Tables" option under Census 2000 Summary File 3 (SF 3) Sample Data.
On the next page, select a GEOGRAPHIC TYPE of "3-Digit Zipcode Tabulation Area".
In the lower box, select "All 3-Digit Zip Code Tabulation Areas" and press the "Add" button, when it is done, click "Next".
Select table "P53. Median Household Income in 1999 (Dollars)" click on "Add" then on "Show Table".

Number of Orthopaedic Surgeons is the number of Active Fellows (w/ good addresses) per 3-digit zipcode as of 06-28-2005.
